Today has been day one of two further days of sailing before we arrive in our second last port of Geraldton. We were largely on a westerly setting as we left Broome last evening while an hour or two prior to today’s sunset, we have set course in a more south-westerly direction as we approach the North West Cape near Exmouth. Not much to see on the ocean today, with weather fine, although the seas have shifted from relatively flat to a small swell. Certainly no discomfort although we are now quite aware of being at sea, as we move gently side-to-side and a bit up-and-down.
I did manage to miss this morning’s sunrise as it was visible from the stern and not my port side. Sadly, I also missed the rather stunning sunset as we left Broome last night too, but some very accommodating passengers (thanks Rob and Janice) have offered to send me pictures. As a consequence, I was determined not to miss this evening’s sunset and some progressive images of that are placed below.
Our friendly steward has also provided me some pictures via email but cannot access them till Geraldton. Not my pictures so sort of cheating but I shall post them with appropriate attribution. The important aspect was his glee with showing his stunning pictures of the Broome area and the magnificent contrasting and vivid images he captured. As we were doing this, we were joined by passenger Janice and together we passionately shared experiences of the day, of pictures, and generally had a very friendly natter. All in the corridor outside our little cabin.
People generally are in good spirits, they seem more relaxed in the second week and getting to know each other. Yet all too soon it ends, while for us, the next stage of our travelling adventure starts next Tuesday.
For now though, enjoy the images below.
