Emma Gorge, Kimberley, Australia

Cool but so exhilarating after a hot walk.

Emma Gorge, how I love thee! Perhaps one of my favourite places I have seen in the Kimberley. The walk in is a little challenging but most scenic, culminating in this stunning vista. The subsequent swim is the sensual reward and vital to gain the full ‘Emma’ experience.

Walking back, one feels fulfilled and joyous.

Emma Gorge is part of the El Questro precinct in the eastern Kimberley, within easy driving distance of the main El Questro camp. Best to visit or walk the Emma Gorge track early morning as even in Winter, it can get hot in the exposed sun. Also, there are less crowd early (and many more later, given its popularity).

Another highlight – standing under the waterfall at Emma Gorge.
And some of the beautiful scenery on the Emma Gorge walk.
