We discovered this morning how close Litchfield National Park is to Darwin. What a great place on their doorstep, for a swim, given that is not so possible on the lovely beaches here.
After leaving Batchelor this morning, we visited the very pleasant market at Parap, had a delicious smoothie each, and this one had a Thai massage. Soon after we visited the interesting military museum at East Point near Fannie Bay. After an early checkin, it was time to drop off our hire vehicle for the last time, and walk back to Skycity via the lovely Botanic Gardens. On the way back, we observed a cricket match in action. Here in the NT, the seasons are reversed with footy in the wet season and cricket in the dry. The reasons I would say are pretty obvious.
Finally our current cluster of holidays ends here, with an early morning flight back to cold Melbourne. From 34 degrees here, to around 12 I believe. That will be a shock. Meantime, we have had a great time while on the road in north western Australia. Until next time.

We have so enjoyed our stay at Skycity in Darwin, we have been so privileged to stay here. If you get a chance, and can afford it, do the same, enjoy the sunsets on Mindel Beach, the lagoon pool and infinity pool, and the restaurants. And now, we bid farewell to our last Darwin and northern Australian sunset, until next time we trust.
A great location overlooking Mindel Beach, and every night it seems, a glorious sunset.
The Infinity pool at Skycity. Yes we swam in this today, as well as the most impressive lagoon pool around the corner.
Can you ever tire of these gorgeous sunsets? It was also quite different from the last sunset we saw here about one week ago, at Mindel Beach. I shall aim to compare and contrast in my imminent NT reflections. Meantime, thanks Darwin for your hospitality and friendliness.
