Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge. 20180628

This Gorge located 30 km in the Nitmiluk National Park is a continuous piece of rock running from Arnhem Land to the north. This morning we enjoyed several hours cruising this most spectacular place, including a most enjoyable swim near the third Gorge. Indeed there are many gorges but in the dry season, they are separated by several natural dams, requiring us to travel on a series of three boats, and back again alternating too.

Our indigenous guide was also most knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. A very good cruise. After lunch we also hiked up the lookout, for another fine view.

Images of the gorge are shown below.

In very privileged fashion, we finished the day in the lovely Cicada Lodge, with all the luxury trappings and fine food. Indeed we are fortunate and it has been another fine day.
