After leaving Darwin the evening before, we have spent the day sailing through the Timor Sea. Slight seas as opposed to smooth, but very comfortable. Weather fine. I could say a slow news day but more a day to relax, read, go to the gym, and yes, eat (more). It is sometimes these days that end with a cocktail, or two.

However, there can always be a highlight at sea around sunset and this was the case today, as many on deck enjoyed the sun disappearing over the sea’s horizon, with just a blink right at the end. I did manage to capture on video and will provide a link sometime in the future if I can find a place to load that content. Meantime, I attach the static images below to give you some idea of that experience. |

It is fascinating to have the sun in view one moment, and in a second, it is gone. Initially the light dulls quite directly, then the hue post-sunset starts to develop for some minutes after. OK, most of us have seen sunsets. But to see it over the sea is very impressive. |
Our day did finish with those aforementioned cocktails with an Aussie comedian in the evening. Very funny and a happy way to end a relaxed day at sea.
