Reaching out to strangers at Christmas – a social experiment

Many of us will know the term “like ships passing in the night”. So much in common but barely an acknowledgement. Maybe a brief blast on the fog horn, maybe some inter-ship communications, but then each on their way, maybe sometimes to never interact again.

So it is in our lives. So many interactions, so many opportunities for positive connections yet offer we simply drift on by.

I wonder how it could be for you, this Christmas time, to interact more, not less with your fellow humans? Whether that be in cyberspace or in person. To say hello to a neighbour you have previously ignored or disregarded. To stop and engage in conversation with someone who is so different from you. To gain new perspective. To simply connect.

I too would welcome this human connection, and so I wonder how many of my readers here may like to drop me a Christmas message. Please email me at redmaverick12@gmail.com if you fancy connecting in this way. Any feedback is good, but if you have ideas for a story you would like me to run, please suggest.

Meantime, have a safe and joyous Christmas, and a peaceful and fruitful new year. If we connect together in 2020, our planet can be a special place to live, as it mostly is!
