So sad to miss the visit to Kitava after being advised of the conservative and longstanding culture there on that island. And the locals had prepared for our visit, but we did not make it. We were sad and I assume the locals may have been too but perhaps we shall never know.

I have since asked other PNG guides as to whether the general population welcomes we tourists and they say so. I guess they would wouldn’t they? Nevertheless, they have been so hospitable.
