This is very close to Alice Springs, being just 17 km or so west along the sealed highway. Very picturesque, a good place to just rest, sit, and admire the combination of towering escarpment, the relief of the billabong below and the stretches of sandy creek bed. I do not believe you can swim here and if you seek hiking, head further west along this MacDonnell Ranges and check out Ormiston Gorge some 120km further west, via the loop road of Namatjira Way. Or if just a swim and some elegant beauty, visit Glen Helen Gorge.
