Today was a lay day for both travellers so we embraced the mundane of supermarket shopping, a massage for this old bloke, a visit to the best bakery for lunch and not much else. Probably baked beans and toast for tea after an extravagant but yummy meal out last night, just across the road. Of course, I enjoyed the prawns, something this region is known for, among others, as per the big one below. Apparently 700 thousand kg of prawns are caught here annually, many for export, and the catch is closely monitored for sustainability, as it has been for many years.
Note the sign in town by the supermarket and the bakery that caught our attention. Apparently the locals are the worst culprits, as per another local we chatted to.
Speaking of locals, they are in-your-face friendly outside the bakery too. Clearly this one was quite at home.
And then there was yesterday being with the sea creatures and the biggest fish of all. Images below were supplied free by Kings and include a smattering of yesterday’s wonderful experience. Late in the day we also spied the dugong on our way home.
