Our day started early leaving Cervantes and breakfast in beautiful Jurien Bay. Breakfast by the beach. Then cruising through some undulating and interesting countryside, with the ocean view never too far way. Soon it was lunch in the equally lovely Horrocks Beach, just north of Geraldton after our first refuel stop.
Eventually by late afternoon we arrived on the southern edge of Kalbarri and started the tour of some of the wonderful ocean lookouts and sights. Wow! Pictures to come. Got to our camp site by dusk and had a simple tea. Too bad about the smoke detector and trying to do toast in the camper.
We are located on the spectacular Murchison River near where it meets the Indian Ocean. Much to explore in the next several days. Tomorrow we plan to be up early and do some of the manageable gorge walks. Could be challenging but expect awesome views. This is a pretty special place!
Meantime another first world problem with my lap top with power on problems. Frustrating so no pictures from today yet. Hope I can resolve soon else there will just be a text profile here and loaded via my co-driver’s iPad. Best wishes to all. Time for sleep.
OK two images added via the clever iPad and some free google editing software. The first is Horrocks Beach as mentioned above and voted as one of Australia’s greatest beaches for 2018. Too bad about the sea weed but perhaps that arrived after its evaluation. The second image is one of so many glorious sights on the coastline just south of Kalbarri township. A combination of insurmaountable cliff faces and others with graduated faces and natural steps leading down to small inlets. Just stunning, breathtaking!
